Humanist Meeting -- Friday, May 20, 2011, 7:30 – 9:30 PM
MESSIANIC HUMANISM

There are two kinds of messianic vision: the apocalyptic and the humanistic. The apocalyptic vision is based on the traditional belief that “the end is near,” when terrible wars, earthquakes, famines, pestilence or an evil anti-Christ will cause a global catastrophe. The humanistic messianic vision aspires to bring about a world of peace and justice.

The power of messianic humanism is to mobilize people with kindly feelings to apply science and the humanities to build a better world and to avert the threats of global dictatorship, environmental destruction, and nuclear holocaust.

Come and hear the moving message of Joseph Ben-David, Senior Minister of the Church of Humanism, a professional member of the Association for Humanistic Psychology, and a member of 4thU.
